BUSINESS NAME REGISTRATION IN KENYA

Most people don’t know the difference between a company and a business name.
A business name is registered with the less paperwork than a company but the most similarities between the two is that you start with a name reservation.
You can use it to obtain a necessary approvals from the county governments and also apply for tenders advertised by the government.
You can register your shops, schools, saloon, bookshop, hardware, electronics shop, pharmacy, consultancy and also a hotel under business name .
You can be the sole proptier or have a partners but not to exceed more than 20 people.
Here is the process of registering a business name;
NAME SEARCH.
You can come up with three names that you prefer for your business.
Download the form of business name reservation for the attorney general website.
Go to any Huduma centre, make the payments and reserve the name.
The name is reserved for 30 days
FILL THE BN2
This is the form that show the particular of the business.
You have to list the following;
Ø  The location
Ø  Postal address
Ø  The names of the pope tier and all of his partners.
Ø  The age and nationality of the same.
Ø  Nature of business.
APPROVAL
This is mainly done at any Huduma centre where they look if you have the following documents are the one that they must be attached when going for the approvals;
Ø  The business name reservation.
Ø  A filled BN2 FORM
Ø  A copy of KRA PIN
Ø  A copy of the I.D
Ø  Two passport photos
If you have the necessary documents the official are going to endorse your documents as ‘’approved’’.
                                                PAYMENTS.
This are done once you get the approvals.
You will be issued with a receipt that will be used to collect the business name certificate when it’s ready.

NO RECORDS FOUND DURING RENEWAL OF DRIVING LICENSE
